Round Tables

Resto Plateau sits on the following round tables

Fruit and vegetable baskets

*Back on September 17th 2024

The Fruit and vegetable baskets project, in collaboration with Panier futé, allows us to offer the opportunity to order fruit and vegetable baskets at low cost, in order to promote access for all to a healthy and balanced diet. The baskets, available in 3 different formats, can be ordered twice a month and picked up at lunchtime directly in our dining room. Fruits and vegetables are given by the Mutuelle d’approvisionnement des marchés solidaires (MAMS).

Les Cigognes

The “Les Cigognes” project was born from an initiative of the organizations of the round table “Around the Grand Plateau families”. Observing a need for food security among vulnerable families with young children on the Plateau, we have developed a collaborative project that offers food respite. This takes the form of 4 free weekly meals for 6 weeks for registered families.

This project is made possible thanks to close collaboration between the Cuisines collectives of the Grand Plateau, the CIUSSS Centre-Sud-de-l’île-de-Montréal and Resto Plateau.

Carte proximité

For the first time, in the year 2024, discover the Proximity Card, your passport to healthy, local food! This food voucher program is designed to support low-income households while strengthening local food systems. The Proximity Card is much more than just a coupon: it’s a farmer’s gesture of solidarity towards a better food future for all. The program runs for four months, from July 1 to October 31. At the beginning of each month, an amount is deposited on the card and must be spent at one of the program’s partner farmers’ markets. This amount ranges from $50/month to $125/month, depending on household size. Registration is now closed for the 2024 season.

This project is made possible thanks to the Carrefour solidaire, the initiator of the initiative, and the CDC Plateau-Mont-Royal for coordinating the project in our beautiful neighborhood.

Food donations

At Resto Plateau, we’re committed to combating food loss and waste by redistributing edible foodstuffs free of charge to our customers. Thanks to our partnership with the food recovery organization Second Harvest, at each take out counter*, we make available food donations generously donated by St Laurent Pharmaprix.

*The take out counter is open every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

Since November 2020, we have been traveling to 9 HLMs for seniors offer healthy and diverse meals at a low cost, all while helping break their isolation. We also distribute our dishes to several of our community partners to meet the dietary needs of their members.

This project is made possible thanks to financial support from F.I.R.M and Mirella and Lino Saputo foundation.
